Design Engineer Intern - Telford, PA - 496913

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job ID: 496913

Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities * Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and standards under the direct supervision of the engineering department * Participates in the analysis and validation of design concepts * Perform design calculations for given projects where appropriate * Performs routine engineering tasks using standard engineering practices * Learn to apply applicable design principles related to Project requirements * Follow Oldcastle's national CAD standards and procedures for creation of product drawings utilizing AutoCAD * Review bills of materials and production drawings * Assist drafters and engineers as needed

Qualifications / Required Skills * Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (possibly open to Mechanical, but not preferred), or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities * Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office * Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast paced environment * Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills * Ability to work both independently and in a team setting * Ability to write reports and analyze raw data * Knowledge of construction practices is a plus
