This is a contract role for 6 months for a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer. The primary purpose of this role is to lead activities related to equipment improvement by performing root cause analysis of the top problems and implementing countermeasures. While a degree is not required, it is highly preferred in mechanical engineering. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Responsibilities
Lead activities related to equipment improvement.
Perform root cause analysis of top problems.
Implement countermeasures to resolve equipment issues.
Design and develop solutions using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Support equipment, repairs, breakdowns, or investigations on the floor.
Balance workload between desk design work and floor support.
Essential Skills
Solidworking knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Mechanical engineering experience.
Experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Data analysis skills.
Project management skills.
Work Environment
This role is part of the assembly department. The ideal team includes 2 mechanical engineers and 2 electrical engineers; currently, there is only 1 mechanical engineer. The work balance is 50% desk design and 50% floor support. The role is on the first shift but requires support during the shift change at 4:30 pm. The position includes 5-10 hours of overtime per week, including some Saturdays, although overtime is not guaranteed. This manufacturing location is the only one in the United States that manufactures transmissions and has an expansion line for E-Axels.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
