POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is assigned to the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) and is responsible for assisting the ITS management staff in the coordination of administrative tasks which are complex in nature, broad in objective and integrate diverse functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Analyzing legislation and administrative rules as well as Department policies to evaluate impact on Information Technology Services (ITS);

  • Assisting in procurement of products and services for ITS. Assisting in the review and tracking of maintenance renewals for IT products and services that are used in ITS, as well as other areas of the agency. Completing maintenance renewals are accurately and in a timely manner;

  • Assisting in the procurement of products and services in ITS. Assisting in the purchasing of products as needed for ITS, as well as for other areas of FDLE;

  • Reviewing Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) Standards as requested by the division of Criminal Justice Professionalism (CJP);

  • Analyzing legislation and preparing analyses of legislation within schedule and in a format specified in the agency; and

  • Monitoring legislation, rules, and policy impacting ITS and provides reports to ITS leadership.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices;

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and the ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations;

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner;

  • Ability to work independently;

  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; and

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    BASE SALARY:

  • $ 46,350.00

    BACKGROUND:

    FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

    NOTES:

    Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
