MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityandthree (3) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Possession of a valid Class E Driver License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel, including overnight for training and/or meetings, as required.

OFFICE DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Energy (OOE) is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where staff work together as a team to develop public policies and programs that that will move Florida toward a more diverse, stable, reliable, and resilient energy portfolio. Using available state and federal funds, the OOE develops and manage energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy education, and alternative fuel technology programs throughout the state.

The position will work closely with the Policy Team and will be responsible for a Energy Education, Vocational Training, and Workforce Development.

JOB DUTIES:

Provides support to the Compliance lead within the Office of Energy to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, rules, and statutes regarding the development and administration of energy-related programs, policies and procedures.

Programmatic duties include development of educational information and resources to inform the public and other stakeholders on energy-related topics, the role of the Office of Energy, energy-related funding opportunities, and other topics of interest in support of the office. Additional duties include working with other staff to enhance the Office of Energy (OOE) website to serve as a resource for stakeholders, as well as an information tool for educating the public.

This position provides support to the Compliance lead and other staff to address and resolve all related monitoring and auditing needs identified by the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), State Auditor General, and Inspector General staff. Programmatic duties include assisting grant staff with tracking receipt and review of all sub-grant audits to verify compliance with federal and state audit requirements, including the implementation of any required corrective actions.

This position assists with keeping OOE leadership abreast of federal and state legislation, executive orders, rules, or guidance that pertain to energy or energy-related topics. This includes but is not limited to proactive identification and potential impacts with regard to any of these matters. As needed, this position assists other OOE staff with compilation of data for the USDOE Performance and Accountability for Grants in Energy (PAGE) reporting system.

Assisting compliance lead with providing training and technical assistance to grant managers, and subgrantees regarding compliance and federal and state regulations that are applicable to grant funding.

Prepares correspondence as it relates to assigned energy issues, is a contributor to the FDACS Office of Energy Annual Report.

Performs other related duties as required. Special projects or meetings as assigned by the Office of Energy Director and/or Deputy Director.
