We are actively seeking a mid-level environmental professional, either an engineer or geologist, to join our expanding Florida Operations Team. The role involves conducting environmental assessments, collecting and analyzing samples, evaluating data, and preparing reports. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our operational group, which specializes in regulatory compliance, soil and groundwater assessment, site remediation, and other environmental client services. This group holds multiple professional contracts offering a wide range of services, including due diligence investigations, conservation easement monitoring, site assessment, remediation design and construction, treatment system operation and maintenance, and roadway construction support.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, petroleum storage system removals, and water treatment system operation and maintenance.

  • Perform environmental site assessments and investigations.

  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and documentation.

  • Prepare technical reports and proposals.

  • Maintain in-house equipment, such as multi-meters, photoionization detectors, and other related technical field equipment.

  • Track and maintain expendables inventory.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers/geologists and project managers on various projects.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting.

  • Proficiency in sampling and site assessment.

  • Expertise in environmental compliance and remediation.

  • Knowledge of phase I and phase II environmental site assessments.

  • Familiarity with HAZWOPER standards.

  • Understanding of geology and environmental remediation.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or geology.

  • Engineer in training or geologist in training status.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with well-organized work habits.

  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork, including occasional weekends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and FDEP Sampling SOPs.

  • Experience with GIS software.

  • Experience with GPS technology.

Work Environment

This position is based out of our Tallahassee office location, operating within a hybrid office/field/work-from-home model. Training and work preparation typically occur in the Tallahassee office, with fieldwork conducted primarily in north and northwest Florida. Reporting and data analysis work may be conducted at home or at an office location. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $38.46/hr.
