INTERNAL AGENCY

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

    Preferences:

  • Previous employment with the Florida Division of Elections or a Florida Supervisor of Elections office, specifically in a supervisory role or working with voter registration and/or list maintenance.

  • Fluent in Spanish.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the administrative and operational activities of the Voter Services Section by assigning work, reviewing progress, and assessing performance.

  • Applies technical and regulatory knowledge to manage the activities of the Voter Services Section including the planning and conduct of research, audits, and analytical work.

  • Reviews the work of subordinates for accuracy, professional judgment, and treatment of unusual or complex problems. Also, reviews programs, services, forms and reports, and confers with management and users to identify problems and improvements.

  • Confers with management on complex studies or recommendations. Confers with the BVRS Bureau Chief on all administrative and operational activities of the unit. Also confers with the Special Programs supervisor on operational activities of that unit and serves as back-up in his or her absence.

  • Prepares statistical data and reports for presentations and/or websites.

  • Interacts with Supervisors of Elections, staff, other agencies, and the general public.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience developing and implementing procedures in compliance with laws and statutes;

  • Experience planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives, and time utilization with employees;

  • Experience with team leadership, including motivation, constructive criticism, and training employees in job performance;

  • Experience preparing and interpreting reports or statistical data.

  • Ability to process incoming and outgoing mail, DAVID, and Voter Focus.
