WSP USA Assistant Technician - Environmental Field Services in Tallahassee, Florida

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Field Technician for our Indianapolis, IN office. This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that provides solutions on groundwater sampling and field data collection. The work entails a combination of field and office-related activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, work as part of a team and requires problem solving and proactive communication.

Your Impact

  • Conduct field events following standards and procedures including sampling of groundwater, residential tap water, soil, sediment, and surface water.

  • Maintain remediation systems.

  • Perform field measurements and calculations.

  • Record and compile field data using tablets and field meters.

  • Perform assigned office duties, such as data entry, bulk mailings, borehole logs, presentation of data, support report preparation.

  • Coordinate and communicate with client representatives, subcontractors, homeowners, and WSP employees.

  • Willingness to travel for field assignments as dictated by project demands (including to remote locations and outside work in various climates up to 50% of time).

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma.

  • Three years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to independently complete field assignments and summarize field data for use in reporting.

  • Proficient MS Office skills and data collection tablets.

  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.

  • Strong initiative, problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and a professional attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in the field of engineering, environmental sciences, or related discipline.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER.

  • Hands-on field experience, including familiarity/experience with groundwater and soil sampling techniques and field procedures.
