American Express Assistant Manager of Business Planning in Taiwan, Taiwan

This role is responsible for strategic planning and analytics to drive growth for the American Express Consumer and Commercial business in Taiwan Market. This position reports to the VP and Country Manager of International Card Service (ICS) Taiwan, and will be supporting pivotal business decision making with the leadership team.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Business Planning

  • Manage planning process for the Consumer and Commercial business in Taiwan.

  • Drive management action plans to achieve margin improvement through revenue generation and cost containment initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Country Executive teams in Taiwan to manage investment optimization and operating expense budget to ensure investment efficiency.

  • Support agenda setting, presentation materials development and logistics management of market summit and regular business updates to senior leadership team

Metrics and Quality Tracking

  • Monitor macro environment, competitive landscape and industry trend that present potential opportunities or threats to the business.

  • Provide data insights and recommendations on growth opportunities.

  • Ensure on-going tracking of scorecard performance and key business metrics, and alert leadership team on challenges or opportunities.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple growth projects simultaneously with strong adherence to timelines and good engagement level with business/function leaders in the organization.

  • Coordinate with Asia Planning team and Market Business Planners in Asia to drive cross-market synergy.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University graduate with MBA or equivalent

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Financial Services industry with card business knowledge preferred

  • Strategic Planning and forecasting experience and ability to drive data insights

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills including project management

  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated ability to drive results and work with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated high levels of personal accountability and flexibility to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages

  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent written & oral communications skills

  • Experience leading others

  • Language: English,& Mandarin
