Tacoma Community College Foundation and Donor Relations Coordinator in Tacoma, Washington

Position Summary This position is responsible for the overall coordination and management of Tacoma Community College's Foundations Office and includes donor relations, operations support, scholarship coordination, and prospect research. This position reports directly to the Foundation Executive Director. The Foundation and Donor Relations Coordinator serves as an integral part of the Foundation's efforts to support the College in raising friends & funds for TCC. This position is focused in areas, such as marketing, event support and management, gift processing and acknowledgement, administrative support, office support, and database management.  This position works closely with the Foundation Executive Director to execute the goals of the Foundation, that is aligned with both the Foundation's Fundraising Plan and TCC's Strategic Plan.  This position is responsible for performing complex administrative duties for the Foundation and acts as a point of contact for donors, friends of the college, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the public.  This position collaborates with the following individuals: 

  • Foundation Executive Director and Foundation board president in board operational support.
  • Fiscal Analyst and Fiscal Specialist in successfully managing resources directed toward the Foundation. 
  • Marketing Manager and the department to assess and execute marketing needs for the Foundation. 
  • Financial Aid Office Scholarship Coordinator for the marketing, posting, maintenance, and awarding of Foundation scholarships.

     

Essential Functions

Donor Relations (Stewardship, Acknowledgement, Recognition, Engagement) (55%) Marketing and Communications Project Management (40%)  Coordinate and manage various communication initiatives to promote the Foundation's mission and opportunities. This includes creating, distributing, evaluating, and updating:

  • Annual reports, newsletters, impact reports
  • Email communications, website content, and social media presence
  • Story collection for promotional purposes
  • Donor recognition efforts (e.g., donor walls, named spaces/items)
  • Collateral materials (e.g., brochures, thank you cards)
  • Presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoints, promotional items)

Assist and support diverse giving audiences with targeted marketing and communication materials, including:       

  • New, recurring, major giving, and legacy society campaigns
  • Alumni engagement initiatives 
  • Special campaigns, such as the 60th anniversary celebration and EMS Lab Campaign
  • Internal giving programs
  • Direct mail campaigns
    • Collaborate with the Foundation Executive Director, Director of Philanthropy, Marketing and other TCC departments, and external contractors to ensure timely completion of projects, alignment with organizational goals, and adherence to the college's graphic standards in marketing and communication needs for the TCC Foundation

Event Support and Management (10%) Assist with event planning, setup, logistics, volunteer recruitment, and follow-through for Foundation events.

Support special projects and presentations related to Foundation initiatives, including scholarships, fundraisers, and internal TCC events.

Manage comprehensive event logistics including invitations, RSVPs, seating arrangements, guest registration, day-of event support, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with Event Coordinator, College departments, and stakeholders to oversee event budget, purchasing, rentals, facilities coordination, and overall planning.

Purchase and manage supplies, refreshments, awards, and event-related materials.
