D.A. Collins Companies Senior Level Project Manager (D.A. Collins Companies) in Syracuse, New York

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has brought safety, quality, and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 70 years. We are seeking a dependable individual for a full-time position as a Senior Level Project Manager to join a dedicated and hard-working team for a large project we are pursuing in Syracuse, NY. Travel is REQUIRED.

This is a professional position involving responsibility for project management, project development, planning, business development, client management and financial performance . Incumbents of this position must possess strong initiative and communication skills, and the supervision and mentoring of staff with the ability to manage operations, budgets, and schedules.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Manage operations, project budgets and schedules

  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity on projects

  • Manage multiple projects including oversight of multiple Project Managers and/or Engineers

  • Oversee compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulations

  • Communicate with owners, agencies, and inspectors

  • Coordinate with General Superintendent, Project Superintendents, Project Managers and Engineers to ensure adequate staffing of jobs to safely stay on schedule

  • Monitor and improve Project Manager and/or Engineer performance to ensure proper planning to execute project construction operations safely and effectively in accordance with contract documents and Company standards

  • Attend meetings and provide technical assistance

  • Perform a wide variety of tasks that will including having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb, and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting, hear and react to back up alarms

  • May perform other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management with a preference for the candidate to have a Professional Engineering License AND;

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience as a project manager AND;

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a bridge/heavy highway construction field AND;

  • A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time

*Preference may be given to those candidates who have fifteen (15) year of experience in bridge/highway construction field with an emphasis on DOT projects

**Preference may be given to those candidates who have ten (10) year of experience managing other staff

*Preference may be given to those candidates who have experience in supervision of bridge construction and rehabilitation projects, preferably with DOT

**Preference may be given to those candidates who have substantial experience on projects valued >$10 M

$92,000-$175,000

$110,400-$210,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
