SUNY Upstate Medical University Medical Office Assistant in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary: The MOA is an individual who, with appropriate experience, can enhance the clinical and clerical functions of healthcare center. This individual will have an opportunity to have direct patient care responsibilities in addition to complementing those skills with providing proficient clerical organization. Preparing patients for examinations, takes and records vital patient data, performs standardized routine tests such as phlebotomy and patient specimen collection. Also answers phones, schedules appointments, processes referrals and a wide array of other clerical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with an electronic medical record system (EPIC) in a primary care setting.

Work Days:

M-F Daytime Hours
