Description of Duties:
The Business Office at The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, NY, invites applications for a Budget Control Officer. This role oversees campus budget management and supports the Business Office's daily operations. Responsibilities include developing and allocating budgets across multiple funding sources, generating financial reports for budget managers, and collaborating with Enrollment Management to forecast revenue and analyze course fees. The position also ensures compliance with expenditure policies, supports cost accounting, reconciles accounts, manages financial transactions, and maintains financial organization. Additionally, it involves preparing reports, providing data-driven insights to leadership, and implementing strategies to enhance budget efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability multitasking with a strong attention to detail either in a professional or educational setting.
Ability and willingness to work independently and take an active role in the position.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA, Experience in a higher education setting,
Experience working at a SUNY higher education system
