AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS is seeking an experienced professional for the strategic role of Migrations and Modernization Program Manager focused on migrations and modernization success. You will have the exciting opportunity to develop and deliver on our large migrations and modernization strategy by working with key partners to support organizations on their transformation journey to the cloud. You will own the revenue goals for partners in specific regions and leverage proven programs and the deep experience and capability across our Solution Architects, Partners, Professional Services, and Business Development team to accelerate migrations and modernization projects.

This role will focus on working with select consulting and systems integrator partners, their AWS partner managers and AWS account teams to ensure that won projects achieve the customers’ business objectives and AWS’ commercial objectives. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and collaborating closely on joint sales engagements, you will be responsible for new revenue growth, increased market adoption and the expansion of the partners’ AWS migration practice.

You will drive best-practise across APJ teams, joining the dots, and developing assets and IP. You will interface to account teams, customers, and partners in developing and leading migrations and modernization revenue acceleration initiatives and mechanisms, including enablement, experimentation, and scaling.

The ideal candidate will possess a business background, with a strong understanding of program management and technical concepts and the ability to operate in a complex stakeholder environment. The candidate will also be familiar with business models and motivations of large consulting and systems integrator partners, as well as the complex legacy IT environments of customers, and the business cases to justify large scale technology investments.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, build and manage the frameworks to ensure that partner delivered migrations and modernization projects are successfully executed and delight our customers.

  • Work with global and APJ leadership to shape the strategy and execution of initiatives to accelerate migrations and modernization partner projects.

  • Build and scale programs that help accelerate the adoption of AWS cloud services through large scale transformation projects.

  • Adopt a “look around corners” approach where you develop initiatives in anticipation of future business needs. Create experiments, capture the learning, and scale.

  • Develop, manage, and drive key analysis – uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will contribute to the shaping of strategic growth initiatives the organization will focus on.

  • Design commercial processes and procedures that scale with the business’ growth in volume and complexity.

  • Serve as a key source of business insights into how our customers and partners view the commercial benefits of using AWS cloud and related programs.

  • Prepare and present business reviews and performance reports to the senior management team at AWS regarding progress and roadblocks on issues.

  • Develop, capture, and share assets and best-practise across APJ teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • 5+ years of program management, business development, management consulting experience with solid understanding of commercial levers and business cases of large scale technology investments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or commercially focused degree highly desired. Computer Science and/or Engineering valued.

  • Exposure of IT Transformation, cloud computing and software industry.

  • AWS Technical Certification

  • Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of leading data-driven analyses and influencing results with advanced problem-solving skills to address unique and complex issues.

  • Self-starter, able to handle multiple competing priorities and operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization
