Main Purpose:

To provide an enhanced level of customer services and operational support. The Africa Logistics Coordinator will deal with shipment specifics, build a solid and trustworthy relationship with local African service providers, develop and improve the Marken network on the continent, manage quotation requests and participate in all new projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To monitor all inbound and outbound shipments on a daily basis to ensure that shipments are delivered within the agreed time frames.

  2. To advise customers on a daily basis on any service-related issues (Customs delays, ETA air/road transportation).

  3. Working with customers and local service providers on a daily basis with the aim of developing an excellent working relationship.

  4. Working with all Marken offices and African Local Service Providers (LSP) to ensure the logistics transfer is handled efficiently thus meeting desired turnaround times.

  5. Analysis of routine operational problems and development of possible service solutions.

  6. Advise customer on latest booking times and documentation requirements.

  7. Booking shipments through marken´s booking system.

  8. Supporting Marken departments and offices – Customer Relationship Management/Transport/Operations and Sales.

  9. Supplying customers with Marken Service information,

  10. Escalate costumers´ feedback to the Sales department.

  11. Analyze the performance of Marken partners on the African continent.

  12. Onboarding new LSPs to improve Marken´s performances.

  13. Actively participate in all Marken network development projects and implementation of new hubs or offices in Africa.

  14. Support the Customer Service and Quality departments in preparing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) as required by the costumers.

General

  1. Context :

Work towards developing a partnership between Marken and the Customer by gaining an understanding of the Customer’s specific industry requirements, it´s logistical requirements and complexities.

An increasing demand for quick reaction to client´s demand for logistics services resulted in a continuous request for high quality customer solutions.

  1. Contacts:

Extensive contact with Customer Representatives.

Extensive contact with local and regional airline staff and other relevant operational roles. Extensive contact with Operations/Logistics divisions Marken.

  1. Customer Interaction:

Participate in scheduled meetings to discuss service performance and issues.

Build a strong customer relationship and understand its structure to communicate with the different stakeholders within its different departments

Attending customer meetings and teleconferences, when required.

  1. Knowledge, Skills, and experience:

Deep understanding of Aviation/Airline Networks: Excellent Communication skills with the ability to influence others: Excellent Problem solving and troubleshooting and prioritization skills: essential.

  1. Marken's vision for Africa:

Understand the challenges related to the African continent.

Understand Marken's strategy to develop its network in Africa, to be as close as possible to customers to offer a wide range of logistics services.

e.g.: Storage and packaging solutions at different temperatures, GPS and temperature monitoring devices, optimized transport solutions from A to Z, competitive rates)
