As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Sams Item platform, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of full stack developers to leverage and customize the Unity platform to fulfill Sams item needs. You will collaborate and partner with Walmart product, engineering teams as well as Sams product, business and other Sams Engineering teams to build world-class systems and applications. Additionally, you will influence and provide opportunities for associates to leverage GenAI tools to improve productivity and ensure faster delivery. Always have an operational excellence mind set while delivering solutions.

About Team:

What you'll do:

  • Provide guidance and lead a team of engineers to build quality software solutions for our Associates and Members that reduce waste and gain efficiency

  • Ensure Software Quality Engineering by keeping the engineers up to date on best practices, automated code testing, alerts, reporting, and taking a proactive approach to production running app support.

  • Develop and implement product development strategies using Agile development processes by using iterative and incremental development processes; collaborating between self-organizing, cross-functional teams for requirements and solutions; and promoting adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery for rapid and flexible response to change.

  • Solve business problems by applying data insights, scaling advanced Machine Learning algorithms and statistical models on large volumes of data.

  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

  • Work closely with the Program and Product Manager, and Scrum Champion to ensure engineering work is pointed and prioritized correctly.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience working in Walmart Unity platform.

  • Strong senior level engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size company.

  • Prior experience of building full stack applications, built for cloud and scale

  • Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams.

  • Leading large scale systems in fast-paced environments.

  • Cross functional collaboration, working across teams, domains and varied stakeholders

  • Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc

  • Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 15+ years of industry experience

  • Experience in building E-commerce advertisement system is a plus

Sunnyvale, California US-08479:The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09930:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
