Lockheed Martin IT Computer Repair Support - On Site in Sunnyvale, California

Description: IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

This occupation requires the repair and servicing to the module level of desktop and

laptop computers, printers, servers and associated peripherals. Ensure proper connection and user access to the desktop and laptop computers and peripheral devices via wide area networks.

Assist technicians to repair and reconfigure, to the module level, desktop and laptop computers, printers, servers and related peripherals. Assist technicians in determining if target computer or printers need replacement verses replacing defective modules or components.

Perform system upgrades, modification or hardware reconfiguration and component or

module exchanges of existing computer equipment. Install engineering and field change

orders as specified by the manufacturer including but not limited to disk drives, board

and component substitutions.

Interpret system error messages, invoke debuggers, install virus protection patch

software utilizing authorized version levels. Install new images on target computers as

necessary and coordinate with designated suppliers to recover lost data as necessary to

establish an operational computer.

Select correct equipment, parts, hardware and software diagnostic and troubleshooting

tools to perform repair and maintenance services.

Assist technicians to determine and implement the appropriate sequence of operations to repair, upgrade, install or configure desktops and laptops, and printer and server devices and associated peripherals.

Respond to assigned trouble calls and service requests to coordinate with clients to

address desktop, laptop, printer and server problems. Ensure process closure and

tracking of open services requests.

Complete all required administrative reports associated with Site Certification protocol to

ensure proper audit trail of desktop and laptop repairs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must possess A+ certification and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.

• Typically requires completion of an AS degree in Electronics Technology or Computer Technology from a junior college or technical institute, or equivalent experience.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years hands on experience in working desktop and laptop repair and maintenance problems associated inclusively with Microsoft Windows based platforms and the Microsoft suite of products.

• Must possess a valid State of California Class C driver's license and be willing to operate a company vehicle to travel to customer sites.

Desired Skills:

• HP warranty Certification

• Microsoft AA certification

• solid interpersonal skill set.

• Working knowledge of Service Central, JITA, and other IT tools

• Strong customer service focus with experience in face-to-face customer interactions

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week

The base range for this position in California is $26.88 - $46.34.
