Job Description

You will be responsible for set-up and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. You will work directly with the Engineering team to supervise and improve processes for output and waste levels. You will provide leadership and ownership of process performance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all electrical systems used on all production equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on designated production equipment as specified in the PM Program or as the need arises to ensure smooth operation.

  • Assist Engineering with the installation, debugging, and start-up of all equipment along with maintaining and adjusting vision systems within defined parameters.

  • Maintain equipment logs on assigned equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems.

  • Document all process changes using approved control change procedures.

  • Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are maintained.

  • Provide Production Supervisors with relevant information on equipment and process performance, including production and waste information.

  • Provide leadership to other associates in problem solving of production equipment.

  • Coordinate and support other maintenance activities as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read PLC ladder logic.

  • Ability to read an electrical print and troubleshoot using the drawing.

  • Understanding of electric flow in schematics.

  • Ability to use a multi-meter to troubleshoot circuits.

  • Knowledge of the difference between analog and digital signals.

  • Understanding of AC versus DC voltage and how to check voltage in parallel or series.

  • Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V.

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and ability to get online and change program if needed.

  • Ability to use ladder logic.

  • Ability to watch a program and identify issues.

  • Experience with changing panel views and downloading programs.

  • Mechanical experience with hydraulics and vacuum pumps.

  • Experience with roller and materials conveyors, including SpanTech brand.

  • Ability to replace gear boxes, conveyors, rebuild conveyors, and perform general maintenance.

  • Knowledge of CAM operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Robotics experience (helpful but not necessary).

  • Mechanical aptitude with an electronic focus.

  • Experience in automotive or any manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Work 8pm-8am on a 3, 2, 2, 3 schedule. Training will be 8am-4pm (M-F) for about 8-10 weeks before transitioning to the 8pm-8am shift. Onboarding starts on Mondays. The plant operates 24/7 with around 900 employees. This is a direct hire position.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sumter, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $74880.00/yr.
