PREEMP INC - HIRERESOURCE STAFFING Field Technician / Laborer in SUGAR LAND, Texas
The Laborer, under direction of the Foreman, is a support role to the Company's other skilled trades. Laborers work on highway, construction projects, and excavations. They may operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment.
- They clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, place shoring to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris
- Performs tasks involving the use of their hands and hand tools such as tying rebar, cutting, using pneumatic and electrical power tools
- Signals operators on machinery
- Pour and help finish concrete
- Position, join, and align pipe sections
- Remove framework from set concrete
- Help the Supervisors with any job duties involved in the construction and demolition process
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites to eliminate hazards
- Controlling traffic passing near work zones
- Pouring, and spreading concrete, and providing assistance to craft workers such as masons, utility and carpenters
- Regular attendance required
- Willing to travel and must be able to supply their own transportation
Hours- the trucks take off at 6 AM, so the crew shows up no later than 5:45 AM, they work 6AM- 3:30, they get a 30 min. lunch but he really doesn't care if they take a longer lunch as long as they get their work done - they'll be counted as a 30 min. lunch if that makes sense
