Leidos Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Systems Engineer in Stuttgart, Germany

We are looking for experienced, innovative, and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement EUCOM's mission objectives. Leidos has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Systems Engineer. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is required to travel OCONUS.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software, or system functional specifications.

  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity.

  • Providing system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishing and maintaining security as it relates to users.

  • Applying security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.

  • Developing and implementing technical standards (SOP, TTP, implementation instructions, other required documentation) and monitoring processes for information systems.

  • Maintaining all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, upgrading, patching, and securing Microsoft Windows desktop environments in multiple Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments.

  • Expertise operating and maintaining Citrix infrastructure (PVS, DDC, StoreFront servers, etc.) systems.

  • Experience maintaining Microsoft Windows systems within DoD environments.

  • Experience managing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment and/or preparing master Operating System images for deployment.

  • Effective communication skills to work with colleagues to drive innovation and communicate capabilities to fellow team members, colleagues, management, and customer leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • BA/BS and 3 years recent specialized, or AA/AS and 7 years recent specialized, or a major cert 7 years recent specialized, or 11 years of recent specialized experience

  • Must have current Citrix Certified Associate-Virtualization (CCA-V) certification or greater

  • Must have current CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)

  • Strong background / experience with Microsoft Windows desktop Operating Systems

  • Demonstrated background troubleshooting complex IT issues

  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

  • Knowledge of DoD IA/Cybersecurity and IT regulations and guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation certification

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent certification

  • Citrix Certified Expert-Virtualization (CCP-V) certification

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting

  • Experience in the evaluation and integration of new technologies into existing environments

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
