Nesco Resource Computer Assembler in Stratford, Connecticut

Nesco Resource is seeking a Computer Assembler for a locat Stratford company, on a temp to hire basis. The hours are M-F 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Position Summary: The Computer Assembler is responsible for meticulously assembling computer components, following detailed instructions and utilizing both power and hand tools. This role entails installing basic software, conducting quality checks, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Computer Assembler plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless production of high-quality computer systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Employ power and hand tools proficiently to complete computer assemblies.
  • Assemble sub-components, PCB boards, wiring, and hardware to construct final computer systems.
  • Interpret and follow process sheets, diagrams, and bills of materials accurately.
  • Apply labels according to specified instructions.
  • Ensure precise positioning of parts and subassemblies, adhering to templates or measurements.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to maintain product standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the production area and upkeep equipment.
  • Utilize resources efficiently to accomplish tasks.
  • Perform assigned duties as directed by Group Leader or Management.
  • Provide support to other manufacturing areas as required, facilitating cross-training initiatives.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Basic understanding of electronic components and Static Discharge.
  • Familiarity with mechanical components such as sheet metal and hardware.
  • Proficient in operating computers in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to use microprocessor programming tools for flashing program assemblies.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow production documents like process sheets and work instructions.
  • Competence in operating semiautomatic machines and related equipment.
  • Understanding of basic electronic test procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Capacity to collaborate within a team environment and provide assistance to colleagues.
