Winland Foods Plumber in Stoney Creek, Ontario

Maintain and repair all water lines, piping, fixtures, drains throughout the facility to support operational requirements, as well as infrastructure requirements.

Ensure water lines, air lines, and steam lines are maintained to avoid clogs to support operational and facility requirements. This position is to be knowledgeable of and ensure proper backflow prevention techniques are followed

Position Responsibilities:

-Comply with set specification and building code.

-Replace hot & cold fixtures.

-Maintain sinks in all restrooms in Plant and office spaces.

-Be knowledgeable of the drain cleaning machine to support and maintain drains throughout the facility.

-Knowledgeable of updated Plumbing code to ensure facility meets standards.

-Perform plumbing work in designated confined spaces.

-Operate material handling equipment, scissor lifts, Genie boom, etc. to acquire access to required equipment components.

-Liaise with other skilled trades (Millwrights, Electricians, Operating Engineers) as needed to support Maintenance requirements.

-Winterize exterior lines.

-Work to HACCP compliance.

-Adhere to facility safety procedures.

W ho you are…

As a Winland Plumber, you’ll be maintaining and repairing all water lines, piping, fixtures and drains throughout the facility to support operational requirements, as well as infrastructure requirements. Ensure water lines, air lines, and steam lines are maintained to avoid clogs to support operational and facility requirements. This position is to be knowledgeable of and ensure proper backflow prevention techniques are followed.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Maintenance and repair of all water lines, piping, fixtures, drains, air and steam lines

  • Install, repair and maintain all industrial plumbing fixtures and systems

  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes

  • Interpret blueprint drawings and specifications

  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections

  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering

  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges

  • Replace hot and cold fixtures

  • Maintain all sinks in the plant

  • Work to HACCP compliance

  • Winterize exterior lines

  • Working with other skilled trades professionals

  • Operating equipment (scissor lifts, genie boom)

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of Industrial Plumbing

More about you…

You have your Certificate of Qualifications – Plumber (306A), bonus marks if you have 2-3 years of food manufacturing experience.
