We are hiring a Refrigeration & Utilities Manager for our manufacturing facilities in the our Stilwell, OK frozen desserts plant. This role is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the facility's vital utility systems to include refrigeration systems, compressed air systems boiler systems stream systems wastewater and environmental functions.

This critical role is responsible for managing the maintenance and teams responsible for the refrigeration systems, including ammonia compressors and refrigeration HVAC systems.

    Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the facility's vital utility systems to include refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, boiler systems, stream systems, wastewater and environmental functions.

  • Utilizes the team management concept within the Maintenance department to meet production requirements and company goals.

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include directing & leading supervisors, mechanics, managing general associates including hiring, training and developing associates to ensure production requirements and goals are met at least cost. Provides timely, accurate and consistent reports, i.e., safety, production, cost administrative, etc. to ensure production requirements and goals are met at least cost.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of refrigeration systems, PSM, hazmat, mechanical systems, electrical, safety and preventative maintenance programs. Understands business and management principles involved in strategic planning, and resource allocation.

  • Provides a safety work environment for all associates eliminating unsafe acts or conditions. Ensures the Quality Improvement Process and team management concept are employed within areas of responsibility. Controls costs and assets managed within established goals.

  • Manages the installation of new equipment; maintains a chain efficiency of 98% while maintaining quality and ensuring plant safety.

  • Continuously works on process improvement and department efficiency. This includes recommendations to improve methods, equipment performance, overall work quality, working conditions, and use of equipment. Ensures maintenance work will comply with all local, state and federal safety and environmental requirements and regulations. Complies with Environmental Health & Safety standards, adheres to Lock Out Tag Out and OSHA regulations.

  • Participates in the capital planning process. Identifies opportunities to improve and provide cost effective solutions.

  • Supports the scope development and execution of Lean Manufacturing practices (such as TPM, TPS) across bakery, topping and packaging areas.

    Qualifications:

  • High School diploma

  • 6+ years of experience, with 3+ years of leadership, amongst refrigeration, ammonia, PSM, and wastewater.

  • Authentic leader: direct communicator, able to build strong relationships across the company, with all levels.

  • Must have great collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work closely with cross-functional teams

  • Must possess management/supervisory experience.

  • Must have technical expertise in electrical, hydraulics, PSM, and ammonia systems.

  • CMRP Six Sigma Lean Certifications Preferred.

  • Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to USDA/FDA regulations strongly recommended.

  • Ability to manage up to corporate partners.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and ability to calculate financial figures (product costing standards) and equipment performance.

  • Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office. SAP experience beneficial.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and upper management.
