Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support test planning and preparation, test execution, daily reporting, data reduction and analysis, and test reporting for discrete test events for Department of Homeland Security equipment used at border crossings and airports. This position is located in Sterling, VA .
In this position, the successful candidate will perform assignments of moderate complexity by compiling and evaluating design, operational, and test data, preparing technical specifications, and analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct Junior Engineer and Technician team in testing efforts with little supervision, collects, compiles, analyzes and interprets the results, and writes the resulting technical reports.
Leads the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements.
Designs, performs, and interprets tests of government system requirements.
Present project results, both orally and in written form and is expected to interface daily with clients and stakeholders on-site.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Research, or other science-related field and 5 years of test planning, execution, interpretation, and reporting work experience or Master’s Degree in related field with 2 years of experience or PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Significant experience analyzing data and writing reports using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Candidates should be highly motivated self-starters with a strong desire to learn.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret Clearance and DHS Suitability.
Must be US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and implementing T&E activities with government security equipment such as license plate readers, radiofrequency identification (RFID) equipment, hardware gantries, highway signage, and/or biometrics readers, or similar Homeland Security equipment.
Active Secret Clearance.
Active DHS Suitability.
