Actalent Software Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan
Description:
Design and develop software utilizing C++
Work software through the software development lifecycle from design to test and integration and release
Utilize Linux operating system
Capture development within environment tools such as git, atlassian or jira
Develop networking protocols and put create load balancing
Supporting onsite Laboratory development and integration of application software, with some opportunities for remote telework.
Experience developing embedded software for automotive, military, or industrial equipment in a Linux OS with C++.
Proven Skills in software communication protocols, including Ethernet (UDP/TCP), CAN, and steaming video.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues and to help junior developers work through theirs.
Proficient in OO Software development, C++, Java, Ada, or Python.
Solid understanding of Linux / Unix and POSIX.
Experience with writing interfaces, APIs.
Knowledge of ground vehicle protocols, including CAN, Ethernet (TSN), RS-232, etc.
Familiarity with embedded systems and general purpose computing hardware.
Understanding of TCP/IP Networking / Configuration.
