In this position…
The Lead Maintenance Process Coach partners with the Maintenance Operation Systems (MOS) Manager to create, implement, and execute all processes and tasks needed to ensure the reliability and availability of the production equipment. The unique timing for THIS position allows for leading of, or participation in the following:
hiring the initial skilled workforce
creating initial training standards
initial formatting of the equipment structure in Maximo
equipment buyoff, installation and debug
creation machine FMEAs and associated PM tasks.
What you'll do…
Drive SQCDPME by understanding and consistently applying standard manufacturing operating system processes. Validate and bridge operational needs to ensure the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts.
S afety
Ensure department compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards
Review department safety metrics and coordinate improvement activities
Serve as maintenance liaison for launch-related Pro-Tag and Arc Flash updates, Construction Service Safety audits/compliance checks, and inter-department Pre-Task Analyses
Q uality
Direct data-driven maintenance processes to improve quality metrics (e.g., higher FTT, less scrap, less contamination, etc.)
Devise and implement strategy to tighten tolerances within specifications for fit, form and functionality
D elivery
Coordinate the resources and activities required to ensure problem free start-ups
Facilitate start-up/shift-to-shift meetings
Facilitate constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate bottlenecks
C ost
Promote and ensure continuous improvement in the manufacturing engineering organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structure
Monitor, control, and improve Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU)
Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives: meet or beat schedule
Manage and support material control (spare part inventory), repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews
P eople
Supervise salaried employees
Communication and Recognition
Participate in Time & Data Management meetings for scheduling, staffing, procurement, equipment maintenance, inventory control, constraint analysis, and the coordination of production activities with codependent departments
Build Team Leaders’ and Team Members’ capabilities, mentor subordinates
Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks; build and nurture a One Team environment
Basic Administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
M aintenance
Lead all daily, weekend and shutdown maintenance planning with input from your team(s)
Integrate the maintenance plan into total department business plan
Maximize equipment effectiveness through a detailed, standardized, and prioritized preventive and predictive maintenance plan designed to improve productivity
Provide resources, support, and priorities for all maintenance actions; Use Maximo (MFM) to document all maintenance activities (planned and crisis) and create reports to support continuous improvement
Use Maximo to analyze data and evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance plan
Jointly coordinate maintenance and engineering activities

You'll have…
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 1-2 years technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing environment
Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls
Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 3-5 years automotive experience
Body shop/stamping/paint/subassembly experience preferred
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Knowledge of constraint management principles
Safety and Quality experience preferred
Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Prior experience managing a unionized work force
CNC machining experience (PTO specific)
Helium leak stand experience (PTO specific)
