Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab, located in downtown St Paul, MN (in the Fairview Health Wellness Hub) is excited to be offering a Paid, part-time, Life Enrichment/Activities Dept. High School Intern opportunity for a Minnesota High School student who is going into their senior year fall 2025. Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab encompasses a transitional care unit, long term care, and memory care unit for older adults and is connected to a parking ramp.

Our Life Enrichment/Activities Dept. Intern will attend new employee virtual orientation, onsite (St Paul, MN) orientation, then will working in St Paul, 1:1 with elderly residents for companion visits within in our newly refurshibed care building, lead life enrichment programs/activities/events, chaperone on outings along with other Life Enrichment staff, and help build meaningful relationships with patients/senior care facility residents. Role will be working with Long term care/TCU, and Memory Care patients. Schedule is 40 hours in two weeks. Option to choose either 5 days/week * 4 hr shifts OR 3 days/week at 6-7 hour shifts each. Start and end times typically Day shifts between 9 am-4 pm, possible early evenings as option. Monday-Friday. Start date is June 16, 2025 and end around August 15, 2025 (end date can be flexible) but must be able to work a minimum of 6 weeks and ideally a total of 10 weeks over summer 2025.
This is a temporary, paid position with the intention to have intern apply/transfer to a very part-time, regular paid position with Ebenezer (any location) after August 15, 2025.
Activities Intern duties may include:
-Learn to operate and facilitate activities using “Lucynt Table" technology
-Facilitate and offer pet visits to patients
-Assist senior-age residents during offsite outings
-Invite/gather residents for group programs
-Assist instructor during art groups
-Assist Life Enrichment Director during outdoor visits
-Help prep and organize social events or parties for residents and patients
-Provide 1:1 visits with patients/residents
-Assist instructors for music/chaplain services on Wednesdays
-Stock and offer independent leisure cart activities to patients and residents
-Design and print Activities/Events Calendar
-Share ideas, suggestions, questions, and insights during LE meetings
-Be open and willing to share your skills and interests with residents
-Collaborate with instructor to provide exercise group on Thursdays
-Help build and utilize EICR 4 th floor leisure bins
-Facilitate bingo in memory care unit
-Facilitate activities and groups for long term care and transitional care patients
-Complete manicures for patients and residents
Qualifications:
Must be going into senior year of High School in Fall 2025 (in Minnesota)
Able to complete onboarding new hire appt in St Paul MN for Ebenezer, no later than 1.5 weeks before start date
Able to start June 16, 2025 and will end no earlier than around Aug 15, 2025
Must have an interest in the aging /senior services field or Rehab Therapy, Recreational Therapy or similar field.
Interest in supporting, conversing, and bringing a caring attitude for our senior residents
Able to work a minimum of 6 weeks, ideally 8 weeks
Able to work one of the schedule options listed above at our Care Center in downtown St Paul, MN
Pay rate will be a flat rate of $16.50 hour. Not eligible for benefits
