This position purpose is to evaluate licensure applications and issue licenses to applicants who are qualified under Minnesota Statute and Rule through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board and the Board of School Administrators. Other duties include:
Evaluating applications and permissions to determine appropriate action.
Communicating with applicants so all information is submitted.
Providing information to a wide range of stakeholders on issuance and renewal of licenses.
Providing information to licensed administrators, teachers, applicants for licensure and school districts on matters regarding licensure and permissions.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience as a K-12 hiring, STARS coordinator, K-12 teacher, program coordinator or administrator, or other regulatory licensing agency in any of the following areas listed below:
Teacher education
Mentorships and induction program
Continuing education or re-licensure
Professional development for educators
Regulatory licensing or relicensing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Strong written and verbal communication and human relations skills
Ability to clearly explain laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures
Ability to comprehend, prepare, and complete reports using MS Office products and similar software
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of experience in teacher education, mentorship and induction program(s), continuing education or re-licensure, or professional development for educators
Understanding of the Minnesota's or other state's licensure systems
Experience in research and policy development and data management and analysis
