This position will provide technical assistance in the inspection and verification of the records of financial institutions in order to discover and/or prevent violations of Minnesota statutes and regulations; to determine if the institution is operating according to accepted industry practices; and acting properly in their roles as depositories of money and as channels of economic activity/

Field position requiring extensive overnight or local travel.

Minimum Qualifications

2 (two) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge in audit, risk, or compliance within the financial services industry.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field within 3 months of receiving job offer is equivalent to one (1) year of experience. Coursework must include at least 6 semester credits in Accounting and/or Finance with a grade "C" or better (proof of coursework will be requested).

Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:

  • Must live within the Twin Cities Metro Area

  • Valid Class D Driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in risk management, financial analysis of business operations, or internal audit within a financial institution.

  • Experience with federal and state banking regulations.

  • Experience as a credit analyst, commercial loan underwriter, or risk analyst, particularly involving creditworthiness evaluation.

  • Experience presenting credit risk assessments to senior management or regulatory agencies.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
