The Office is seeking an Office and Administrative Specialists Intermediate (OASI) to provide clerical services to division managers, staff attorneys, legal assistants, and legal secretaries of the Attorney General’s Office in our Post Conviction Justice Review Division.

A successful candidate in this position will be able to:

  • Calendar court events

  • Open and close files

  • Support the expungement criminal history and records

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of legal terminology sufficient to draft related documents and correspondence with accuracy and maintain records

Skill in:

  • Writing, preparing, and editing materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction

  • Customer service sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person, and via email

  • Data entry to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data

  • Transcription sufficient to convert dictated materials or rough notes from cassette tapes or digital format to written form using transcription equipment

Ability to:

  • Prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and/or other documents and types of written communication that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors her written materials that are properly formatted, grammatically correct, and error-free

  • Compare data with source documents and learn to enter data in specific data fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years’ experience providing administrative support in a legal setting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Document Management software with ability to learn new programs

  • Ability to to maintain confidentiality of private information according to laws, rules, policies, and procedures

  • Knowledge of general state, county, and local government office policies, and procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Work in a seated or standing position for extended periods of time

  • Use a keyboard for extended periods of time which may include repetitive motion

  • Move and/or transport items weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
