The Office of the Minnesota Attorney General is seeking an Administrative Office Assistant to provide clerical services to division managers, staff attorneys, legal assistants, and legal secretaries of the Attorney General’s Office in our Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

This role is performed in person daily at our Town Square Tower office location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of legal terminology sufficient to comprehend and draft legal documents and maintain case files/records

  • Skill in:

  • Using business grammar, spelling, and punctuation to write and edit reports, letters, and other documents

  • Transcription sufficient to convert dictated materials, interviews, or rough notes from cassette tapes or digital format to written form

  • Data entry sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely manner

  • Developing and modifying spreadsheets

  • Ability to:

  • Use word processing software to create documents such as Memorandum of Record, Notice of Litigation Expense forms, and Memorandum of Restitution

  • Compare data with source documents and learn to enter data in specific data fields; input data quickly and accurately

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years’ experience providing administrative support in a professional setting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Document Management software with ability to learn new programs

  • Knowledge of general state, county, and local government office policies and procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to:

  • Maintain a stationary position for a prolonged period of the day

  • Use a keyboard for extended periods of time which may include repetitive motion
