About The Position

The Senior Manager of Renewable Operations is responsible for the operations and maintenance of Ameren’s renewable wind and solar generation facilities. This individual provides oversight and management of the execution of long-term service contracts as well as the management of balance of plant activities for all renewable generation facilities. Positions reporting to the Sr. Manager include the site supervisors of Ameren Missouri's wind generation energy centers as well as solar generation operations personnel, who are all tasked with the daily operations and maintenance of these renewable generation facilities. This position manages engineering personnel tasked with the performance optimization and asset health of the generation equipment. Additional primary roles of this position include developing long-term operational plans, administering long-term service and maintenance contracts, managing five-year O&M and capital budgets, developing a culture of safety at the respective generation facilities, and ensuring assets are managed in a manner that increases availability and prolongs their useful life.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish and maintain a safe work environment at the renewable generation facilities.

  • Oversight of renewable generation management personnel, and ensure daily operations and maintenance of the wind, solar, and future renewable generation facilities are prudently and safely executed.

  • Manage engineering & technical personnel tasked with ensuring the performance optimization and asset health of the wind and solar generation equipment.

  • Develop and maintain the overall operational strategy and five-year O&M and capital budgets for Ameren’s renewable generation facilities.

  • Verify that new and existing renewable generation facilities are in adherence with all NERC Reliability Standards, MISO coordination requirements, environmental conservation plans, permits, and regulatory requirements prior to the date of first commercial operations and on an ongoing basis.

  • Continuously monitor the availability, performance, and production metrics of renewable generation facilities.

  • Establish and administer long-term supply and service & maintenance agreements for the renewable generation facilities.

  • Develop condition based monitoring programs to drive cost effective maintenance to maximize asset life.

  • Ensure good community relationship with the local landowners and communities near the wind and solar generation facilities.

  • Ensure development and administration of necessary training for Ameren’s renewable generation facilities personnel is executed.

  • Recurrent travel to renewable generation sites for inspections and oversight.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or other related field from an accredited college or university is required. Ten or more years of experience in generation operations, project management, utility engineering, or operations management is required. Four or more years of supervisory or project management experience is required. Experience with operations, maintenance, or project management of renewable energy facilities is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders including internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies are required. Ability to motivate and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence are required. Must have strong initiative and be highly motivated individual.

Additional Information

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$135,500.00 - $210,000.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
