Records Clerk III

  • $30,499 - $39,748/ Year

Duties:

  • Performs tasks related to the creation and maintenance of an accurate records information retention system and related clerical duties and public services.
  • Receives, compiles and processes information; updates records and files such as police reports, criminal files and gun registrations.
  • Assists the public in person or by telephone.
  • Performs LEIN queries, fingerprinting and firearms inspections.
  • Collects fees for services provided.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment during the course of duties.
  • Trains new employees in all aspects of position.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of general clerical and record keeping experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Will be required to achieve and maintain LEIN certification.
  • A pre-employment physical, drug test and background check are required before employment.
  • Employee will be fingerprinted.
  • Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality of information.

Typing Requirement:

  • Must have a typing speed of 50 words per minute net
