The role

The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs to ensure a safe working environment. This role supports the improvement of to all aspects of Weidmanns safety program and conducts training, inspections, administration program management, project management, and VOSHA/OSHA compliance.

How youll make an impact

Maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation, OSHA regulations, and compliance standards.

Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and training programs, including 5S standards.

Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

Educate employees on safe practices, provide safety training, and promote a positive safety culture.

Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, drive safety improvement projects, and collaborate with management.

Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

What do you bring

Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and 5S principles.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Strong communication skills, including public speaking and conducting training sessions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
