Cabela's Staff Accountant License and Compliance in Springfield, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will function as the primary facilitator of license application, renewals and tracking for Tracker Marine Retail and any other entities as needed. This position will assist in the budgeting process license related expense. This position will file miscellaneous business tax returns as well as file annual compliance reporting for all entities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the processing of license renewals and payments within the central license database. This will also include the maintaining of accurate information on an individual license basis within the centralized license database, to include category of license and expiration date.

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly business tax return filings to include tire and battery tax, VIT inventory tax and other miscellaneous tax returns.

  • Responsible for filing all entity annual reports and all other compliance reporting with Secretary of States offices or other municipalities.

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of the licensing budget as well as perform any necessary research for newly proposed locations or changes to existing locations or product lines.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree (Preferred not required)

  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Years of experience: Two or more years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Accounting experience required.

  • Must be highly organized and able to manage and facilitate multiple tasks, all driven by deadlines.

  • Must possess strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

  • Must maintain accurate soft copy file documentation.

  • Must possess favorable people skills with ability to navigate complex requests and/or tasks.

  • Must be trustworthy and display extreme confidentiality on all levels.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work and sitting.

  • Occasional walking and standing.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
