Mercy Medical Center Springfield, MA Per Diem
This person is responsible for providing highly skilled analysis of blood, fluids, and tissue samples. Takes smears of cell samples, stains samples, and places smears on slides.
What you will do:
Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college/university or Associate’s Degree in an MLT certification program.
MT, MLS or MLT-ASCP or equivalent level certification by one of the professional societies. Or must be eligible to obtain certification within the first year of employment.
Prior experience preferred, in one or more of the following: Blood Bank, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, Core Lab, Hematology, Coagulation, Routine Chemistry, Urinalysis), and Special Chemistry.
