Robert Half Controller in Spring, Texas
Description
As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and ensuring the company's financial health and compliance. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Financial Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for decision-making purposes.
Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
Accounting Operations
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and optimization.
Internal Controls
Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Conduct periodic audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Cash Management
Manage cash flow and liquidity by forecasting cash needs and optimizing cash resources.
Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank statements.
Tax Compliance
Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Prepare and file required tax returns in a timely manner.
Financial Analysis
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to drive business growth and profitability.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA certification preferred
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
Construction industry experience
Lease Accounting knowledge
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations
Ability to work autonomously
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, field team
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity
Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role
