Robert Half Staff Accountant in Spokane, Washington

Description

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Spokane, Washington. As a key part of the financial team, you will be handling a range of tasks such as maintaining the integrity of general ledger, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and supporting the accounts payable and receivable functions. You will also be involved in the preparation of regulatory filings and financial forecasts, as well as working closely with both internal and external auditors. Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare journal entries and ensure the general ledger is up-to-date and accurate.

• Support the accounts payable and receivable functions, making sure transactions are processed in a timely manner.

• Assist in the process of month-end and year-end close, contributing to the delivery of timely and accurate financial reports.

• Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

• Help in the preparation of financial statements and conduct analysis as required.

• Oversee the records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

• Prepare and submit sales tax returns and other regulatory filings as necessary.

• Collaborate with internal audit teams and coordinate with external auditors by preparing audit schedules.

• Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts.

• Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.

• Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

-SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$75,000

    Requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Accounting Expertise – 2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate, construction, or development industries.

· Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting.

· Analytical Thinker – Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide data-driven insights.

· Software Proficiency – Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel preferred.

· Detail-Oriented – High level of accuracy in financial transactions and recordkeeping.

· Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

· Education & Certification – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
