Position Summary:
The CAD Drafter/Modeler collaborates with System Designers, Project Managers, Estimators, and Engineering personnel; this position is responsible for drafting design and documentation of project drawing packages, including quality control, design standards, interdisciplinary drawing coordination, drafting, permit submittals, and as-built documentation. Design focus will include access control, video, and intrusion security systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Use AutoCAD to create detailed security drawings, schematics, and illustrations as directed by the System Designers and Design Manager, including but not limited to: initial sketches for proposals, floor plans, schematic wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, door elevations, door details for installation, and as-built drawings upon project completion.
Creates drawings that comply with company and client standards as described in scope of work and proposals.
Meets project deadlines to ensure timely delivery of drawing packages.
Meets the estimated drafting hours on projects.
Can adapt to changing scope, delays, or shifting priorities.
Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work, as determined by the department manager.
Review individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed.
Ensures that drawings, revisions, and archives are stored according to standard.
Understands and adheres to company policies, procedures, and design and drafting standards.
Accurate time keeping and posting of hours worked.
Promote a team environment, assisting other System Designers/Drafters with their projects.
Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of current AutoCAD features
Knowledge and experience with Revit is not required, but helpful

Ability to read schematic and/or construction plans is required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, twist; use hands to handle, push, pull or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to: remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; and general office duties including use of a computer

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Normal Office Environment.
Must be able to work extended hours to support timelines.
Use of equipment: computer keyboard and mouse, telephone, copier, scanner, and plotter.
Reliable internet connection for hybrid and remote work.
Online meetings using a microphone and screen sharing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree, technical school OR equivalent combination of education and related field experience.
Must have experience producing drawings with AutoCAD
Must demonstrate Computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
Pay and Benefits Disclosure: The pay range for this role is $20.01-38.00 an hour and is based on experience and qualifications. We offer employees access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and paid time off among others. Employees accrue up to 80 hours in their first year. Your accrual rate increases after your first year. We also offer 6 paid holidays.
