Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing standard costs, month-end closing, and monthly variance analysis, among other duties. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a management position and work for a publicly traded company with benefits such as tuition reimbursement for CPA certification.
Responsibilities
Manage standard costs, month-end closing, and monthly variance analysis.
Oversee rebillable accounts forecasting, including spending approvals and profit projections.
Maintain cost databases, including product structure, routing, and purchased item costs.
Analyze and reclassify manufacturing variances from production transactions.
Execute monthly cost accounting closures, including journal entries for COGS and reserve analysis.
Prepare monthly gross profit, standard margin, and material cost analysis by product line.
Create reports, graphs, and analysis tools as requested by management.
Attend meetings to support cross-functional team objectives.
Interface with customers as needed.
Perform additional duties to meet corporate and departmental goals.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in cost accounting.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is a must have.
Experience with publicly traded companies.
Proficiency in cost accounting concepts and principles, including the use of relevant software.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Bilingual proficiency skills is a plus.
Managerial experience (bonus).
Work Environment
The work environment is quieter and not rambunctious. The position requires onsite work from 8am to 5pm, full-time.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $77000.00 - $117000.00/yr.
