Minimum Experience Required for Equipment Operator

Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the operation of equipment such as excavators, mini-excavators, skid-steers, trenchers, and tamps in a commercial construction setting. Electrical experience is preferred.

Job Description for Equipment Operator

Equipment Operators work in teams as a part of our construction services division based in our Spindale, NC headquarters office. This division provides support to commercial construction projects across our entire service area. Operators are expected to operate equipment associated with the installation of underground electrical service and duct bank, and also perform other tasks associated with such work, as well as general construction tasks.

  • Safe and proficient equipment operation

  • Electrical and/or general commercial construction

  • Care and maintenance of tools and equipment

  • Following direction and attention to detail

  • Planning and organization

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow construction documents

    Additional Requirements for Equipment Operator

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Mandatory drug screen

  • Satisfactory performance on a company-administered skills assessment

  • Valid driver’s license with clean record (verified by DMV record check) – CDL preferred

  • Relevant trainings and certifications preferred, including minimum OSHA 10

  • Permanent residence within thirty (30) minutes of our Spindale office
