Job Description

The Third Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Law Clerk position.

Employees in this position perform research and administrative functions for multiple judges. Knowledge of substantive and procedural law and statutes applicable to jurisdiction of the district court. Ability to interact with the public, judges, attorneys, and government officials in a variety of situations and circumstances. Ability to formulate and express ideas on complex technical and legal subjects clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. This is intended to be a seven month clerkship opportunity. Depending on funding, availability, and performance, this clerkship may be extended up to an additional year.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited law school is required. High standard of academic excellence and considerable experience in legal research and writing are desirable. Candidates must pass a preemployment criminal background check.
