This Sterile Processing Tech opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient afternoon/evening schedule.
Possessing an SPD-Relevant Certification (CRCST) with a minimum of one year SPD experience. The SPD Tech manages the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, high level disinfection, and sterilization. Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentation. Picks supplies and instruments to prepare case carts for surgery. Performs quality assurance activities. Assists with supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assists with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Techs. Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for reprocessing cycle of instrument management: including decontamination, assembly, preparation and packaging for sterilization, sterilization, and storage.
Responsible for inspection and correct assembly of surgical instruments including correct selection of packaging, integrators and BI’s.
Responsible for correct sterilization/high level disinfection of instruments including correct selection of sterilization or high level disinfection method.
Responsible for correct care of instruments after sterilization/high level disinfection including interpretation of results and storage of instruments.
Responsible for quality assurance activities including performance audits of sterilizers, washers, ultrasonics and high level disinfectant equipment.
Responsible for learning and understanding instrument and equipment Instructions For Use (IFU’s) and keeping current with changes and new instruments.

Qualifications
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician.
License/Certification:Certified Registered Central Service Technician from IAHCSMM or equivalent (CSPDT from CBSPD).
