Site Maintenance Person

Location: Halmer Court Care Home, Spalding

Contract: Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum based on experience

Glenholme Healthcare is seeking a reliable and skilled Site Maintenance Person to support our care home in Spalding. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of the Halmer Court property – both inside and out.

Your Responsibilities as Site Maintenance Person

  • Carry out routine and ad hoc maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, decoration and manual handling

  • Conduct and document weekly compliance and safety checks

  • Perform basic landscaping and external property maintenance

  • Maintain and control maintenance stock and equipment

  • Support compliance and training of maintenance staff in coordination with the Estates Manager

  • Assist with general maintenance requests as directed by the Estates or Home Manager

  • Occasionally attend other sites within the group for maintenance support

  • Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies, if required

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm

  • Based primarily at Halmer Court, Spalding, with occasional travel to other local sites

What We're Looking For

  • Hardworking, reliable and proactive individual with strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrates respect, transparency and professionalism in all tasks

  • Practical and confident in carrying out a range of maintenance responsibilities

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a wider team

  • Valid UK driving licence is essential

  • Comfortable escalating tasks outside your expertise to the Estates Manager

  • Flexible to support other sites if required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Skilled in plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting, decorating and general repairs

  • Previous experience in building trades or facilities maintenance is essential

  • Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. BTEC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds) preferred

  • Health and Safety at Work training, e.g. NEBOSH or CITB desirable

  • Strong awareness of risk management and safety compliance
