Robert Half Payroll Specialist in South San Francisco, California
Description
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist with Viewpoint/Vista experience to join our team in the construction industry. Located in South San Francisco, California, this role offers a contract employment opportunity. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager with duties related to weekly payroll. This includes processing union and non-union payroll, onboarding, and other payroll-related duties.
Responsibilities:
• Support weekly multi-state payroll for over 300 employees
• Process both union and non-union payroll
• Review and audit timecards, including overtime, double time, meal breaks, and shift differentials
• Act as a liaison to Human Resources for onboarding and leaves of absences
• Handle certified payroll and labor transfer coding
• Manage 401(k) remittance
• Make payroll entries into the General Ledger
• Process bonuses and garnishments
• Support quarterly tax returns
• Generate payroll reports, including Excel reporting with Pivot Tables and Queries
• Carry out special projects as assigned.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, preferably within the construction/contractor industry
• Proficiency in handling weekly payroll
• Experience with UKG Pro and Kronos
• Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System
• Experience in managing payroll garnishments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and queries
• Familiarity with 401k and RRSP administration
• Experience in remittance processing
• Experience in managing payroll for both union and non-union employees
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
