Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machinist II - 2nd Shift to join our team in South Milwaukee!
The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 per hour + $2.50 per hour shift premium.
The core hours are 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What you’ll do:
The CNC Machinist II is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating various CNC Mill and Lathe Machines. In this role, you will be expected to identify and use proper tools, gages, and equipment for the process. You will be responsible for understanding various work processes and performing various machining operations within the CNC Machining group.
In this function, you will:
• Edit and create Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) programs
• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or vernier calipers
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
• Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards
• Required to operate multiple machines in various machining work centers
• Make offsets based on inspection of parts in accordance to print specifications/instructions
• Download & edit programs from the network system (DNC) into the machine
• Monitor and edit the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and various other measuring instruments
• Assist Quality and Engineering teams with problem-solving and troubleshooting for new or existing product development
• Responsible for troubleshooting and general maintenance
• Perform other related duties as assigned and follow general housekeeping (5S+) standard and autonomous maintenance tasks
• Identify and manufacture proper fixturing needed to complete the machining process
• Identify proper tooling needed to complete the machining process
• Interpret print datum structure and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum 5 year of experience interpreting engineering prints, CNC Machine experience, machine set up experience, including tool touch off’s and fixture installation
Or Journeyman’s card in CNC machining or Tool & Die
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with operating Mazak, Doosan, Ganesh, or Hardinge machines
Experience operating Fanuc or Mazak controllers and editing G&M code
Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades
Skills:
Ability to operate all workstations effectively in the CNC Machinist group
Ability to perform in a team matrix environment
Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blueprints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting this position
Ability to work overtime when required.
Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations
