Works to ensure optimal resident care across all shifts. Will maintain staffing patterns needed to provide quality resident care and to ensure staffing on a daily basis. Completes unit rounds multiple times per day. Conducts evaluations of nursing care provided by personal observations, review of records, reports, and other available data. Certifies all resident admissions and readmission to the facility according to the Kentucky Medicaid Long Term Care Regulations. Orders resident equipment and devices when applicable. Provides training to nursing staff regarding facility changes or performance as needed. Conducts in-service training for facility staff. Provide training and monitors training provided by assigned mentors of new nurses. Initiates and completes nursing facility internal investigations involving nursing service personnel, to include reporting to facility administration.
