Position Summary:
With a continual building of knowledge regarding the company and its processes, the project manager interprets policies, best practices, and business issues with a limited degree of supervision, determining how these should be applied to different situations and problems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
Expands conceptual knowledge in project management while broadening skills
Identifies and solves a range of problems in straightforward situations
Responds to and investigates with assistance non-standard requests from internal and/or external customers
Explains information and persuades others
Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines
Leads projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
Develops budgets and manages costs and resources for medium to large projects
Applies knowledge of products, systems and processes within own functional area
Identifies patterns and trends in data
Utilizes other resources when faced with problems beyond their scope
Stays current on the business environment, the latest functional area information, environmental issues, knowledge and skills, and the latest industry information
Broadens knowledge of the customer’s business processes, applications, and terminology to better understand customer needs
Interacts regularly with customers to better understand their functional environment and needs
Leverages customer and Swagelok knowledge to provide high levels or reliability and exemplify service orientation, ensuring high standard of execution
Demonstrates creative thinking when approaching new problems or tasks
Recognizes the importance of change and introduces new ideas for others to act on to actively participate in change projects
Establishes contacts and begins building a network of colleagues at various levels and with a variety of opinions and experiences
Takes initiative in group and team discussions, recognizing the value of diversity of opinion
Demonstrates ability to operate effectively, independently, and within teams
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Education/Experience:
- College or university degree typically required or equivalent work experience that has provided 3+ years of leading departmental projects
Skills/Knowledge:
Has in-depth knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures related to project management
Capable of understanding and analyzing data trends
Solid awareness of industries served and product applications
Capable of performing effectively with limited supervision
General understanding of Swagelok project management methodologies
