The Program Manager is responsible for leading a team of multi-disciplinary engineering professionals in completing programs successfully. This individual is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards to meet various initiatives. Projects can be related to any stage of the life cycle of products, from innovation to serial production. The Program Manager will work closely with management and project team members to establish project needs, deadlines, and budgets. This role requires effective communication of progress with management, staff, and clients, both internal and external, while monitoring project progress.
Responsibilities
Coordinate internal and external resources for the execution of multiple concurrent projects.
Communicate project objectives and deliverables clearly.
Establish comprehensive planning for project execution.
Validate unit tests and integration tests performed by the development team.
Lead and facilitate the definition of project scopes, objectives, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, objectives, and costs efficiently.
Work with R&D and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges within projects.
Implement and oversee project lean processes such as PFMEA and DFMEA.
Monitor and track project deliverables to ensure successful completion of goals.
Report and escalate issues and roadblocks to stakeholders and management.
Essential Skills
Proven skills in program and project management.
Proficiency in lean six sigma methodologies.
Must hold a degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
At least 6 years of experience in project management related to multi-disciplinary engineering teams, ideally in industrial automation, electro-mechanical systems, electronics, electrical, or hardware/software development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to write comprehensive project documentation and reports.
Experience leading projects related to product development, sustaining engineering, and applications engineering.
Process improvement mindset with Lean Six-Sigma training.
Experience in developing and tracking budgets.
Skills in coaching and supervising cross-functional project teams.
Preferred certifications such as MEM, Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar.
Functional understanding of hardware and software-related manufacturing processes.
Work Environment
This role is based in a very clean manufacturing facility with an attached corporate office. It is primarily an onsite position with some flexibility to work remotely when necessary. The Program Manager will spend most of the day working internally with various engineering teams, including R&D, Electrical, and Mechanical departments, with minimal customer-facing interactions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.00/hr.
