Job Overview Provide leadership and decision-making with facilities supervisory team. Determine and communicate component completion dates. Schedule priorities and expedites within the facility on all production shifts. Attain maximum production in department by skillful utilization of company resources. Manage shop employees and equipment to provide our customers with on-time every-time delivery. Provide supervision for various manufacturing departments. Maintain positive employee/management relations. Maintain high quality standards for all products produced in the facility, minimize scrap and utilize rework procedures when applicable. Understand and execute all contractual obligations and participate in preparation of contract negotiations, if applicable. Enforce shop safety standards and drive continuous improvement of safety standards. Sustain all improvements and Operational excellence tools established. Team player willing to work off shifts for coverage Shift is based on business demands. Key Job Responsibilities Responsible for driving, promoting and managing safety in facility. Works in safe manner and adheres to EHS Best Practices. Uses Komatsu safety tracking system to track EHS activity. Ensure that safety rules are adhered to and promptly report and investigate all accidents. Utilize extensive understanding of the shop floor production system to support on-time delivery of product to external and internal customers. Responsible for performance management of all hourly employees including probationary reviews and annual competency reviews. Actively participates in team meetings/project meetings and complete assigned activities as required Establish and communicate daily departmental production plan to hourly employees and supervisors. Evaluate and determine standard times for departmental routers, work with Industrial Engineering to keep router records updated and part costing accurate. Implement and document corrective action to ensure performance of the facility. This includes daily use of tools such as Velocity, LPM, SAP, Kronos, Electronic Kanban Systems, Electronic Documentation, Performance Managements tools, TPM, etc. Participate in operational excellence events utilizing lean tools to eliminate waste from the workplace. Responsible for identifying and driving change management opportunities for multiple departments within the facility. Qualifications/Requirements Supervisory experience in manufacturing and production scheduling environment or equivalent Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with various levels of the organization. Experience and proof of success managing in a job shop Lean experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Degree in management or business discipline desirable but not required.
