About the role

The Maintenance Technician II maintains and troubleshoots process and electrical equipment that supports the manufacturing process areas. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMPs, and Quality Standards in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility are mandatory. Primary responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficient hands-on maintenance of manufacturing and utilities systems including WFI, RO, vessels, and components such as pumps, fans, valves. You will report to a Maintenance Supervisor and work onsite at our Social Circle, GA manufacturing plant.

How you will contribute

  • Inspect, repair and maintain facility structures and equipment (Packaging Line, CIP Skids) as directed by immediate supervisor and as assigned through work orders.

  • Support the manufacturing floor by helping set up CIPs, COPs and equipment LOTOs.

  • Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance through CMMS system.

  • Provide a moderate level of troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of process systems, equipment and equipment components which include: valves, pumps, gearboxes, variable frequency drives, utility skids, cleaning equipment, support equipment (lifts, hoists, doors, and carts)

  • All work must be completed observing cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies.

  • Develop related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas.

  • Provide input in the development and continuous improvement of the maintenance procedures.

  • Assist the maintenance supply team with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for the equipment/systems the team is responsible for.

  • Ensure that operational log and work order documentation is completed with accurate information.

  • Provide support of startup of new equipment to ensure it meets all mechanical design specifications.

  • Develop a basic proficiency in one or more advanced maintenance technologies and understand how to apply technology to improve equipment reliability (alignment, balancing, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, or vibration monitoring).

  • Provide support on startup of equipment after completion of maintenance activities; Provide support during calibrations with LOTO or setting up flow path on manufacturing equipment.

  • Must follow safety rules and ensure compliance with state and federal EPA regulation and laws and attend required training and meetings.

  • Other tasks may be assigned.

What you bring to Takeda

  • Requires high school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience.

  • You will have a Trade School Certificate, Demonstrated mechanical experience, electrical background (up to 480VAC) preferred.

  • Communicate in verbal and written form and have Intermediate computer skills.

  • Interact constructively with peers/teams.

  • Understand schematics and job blueprints.

  • Troubleshoot knowledge of miscellaneous equipment, process equipment, and utilities (water systems, bulk delivery systems)

  • Familiar with manufacturing equipment vessels, mixers, valves, and pumps and have a basic understanding of control system to help troubleshoot.

  • Understand the concepts of Total Productive Maintenance and Operator Care.

Important Considerations

  • May work in cold, wet environment, be exposed to sunlight, heat, dust, gasses, and fumes.

  • May be around moving equipment and machinery; May climb up to and into large processing tanks for cleaning or inspection.

  • May work in areas requiring hearing protection and other protective equipment (PPE); May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids and buffers that may require respiratory protection (PPE).

  • Can work 12-hour shifts, either day or nights.

  • May work or be assigned to a different shift as needed. We ask that you will be available for weekend and holiday work. Overtime may be required.

  • May kneel, stand, and walk to perform described maintenance activities.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$18.85 - $29.62

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
